So, I have made a goal this year to be a better blogger. Since I have made that goal I haven't done anything, but there is still time to improve!
These past couple of weeks a lot has been happening in our house. About a week ago or so, Carsten finally got the hang of rolling from his stomach to back. Since then he is very mobile and can roll across the whole room. He also does what I call the bum scoot. He inches himself forward by putting his bottom in the air and by pulling his legs forward. It doesn't get him very far but he gets somewhere. A couple of times I have seen him get in his hands and knees just for a split second. Another thing that he can do now is turn himself in a circle with his hands. Sometimes when he is on his stomach he flails his legs and arms at the same time which makes it look like he is flying or wanting to swim He'll be crawling before we know it and we don't even have the house baby proofed yet. Carsten is such a joy. He smiles all the time and has the cutest laugh. He is growing up so fast I can't believe it (now five months). He has a talent for blowouts though. Makes for a lot of washing.
Another exciting thing happened in our family. We have come to the conclusion that our apartment is too small for us and we feel cramped. There is no storage whatsoever and not enough cupboard space in our kitchen. Carstens closet is storage for the time being. So......we found out that there was a med student family from our ward moving away in may and we decided to take over their lease. The great thing about it is that it is a townehome and so much bigger than what we have now. A lot more space for Carsten to move around. It is three stories with three bedrooms and 21/2 bathrooms and the clincher is that it has a huge kitchen with what seems like unlimited cupboard space and hookups for a washer and dryer. There is a nice size backyard and also a garage. That will be especially nice in the winter on the cold mornings because matt won't have to scrape the snow and ice off the car. We are getting a good deal on it. The landlord likes to rent to LDS DMU families because he knows that they take good care of things and he hasn't had any problems with them. So we are so excited. The more we thought about it the more it seemed right. So we are moving in June before we go home for a couple of weeks.
Matt is in his second semester at DMU and is doing well so far. His stress level is a little high because he is behind and there is a lot to learn but I know that he can get through it. We finally got a new computer at Christmastime. Now I can download my pictures from my camera and share them with friends and family. Hope everyone enjoyed our little update.
